I had a great time with Sarah last weekend shooting her bridal portraits! We traipsed all over the Dallas Arboretum taking in the beauty. What a gorgeous place for bridal portraits, or even a wedding. We cut it pretty close for her portraits as Sarah and Andrew’s wedding is only 32 days away! But, seeing as she wasn’t able to pick her dress up from the seamstress until the afternoon of the 9th, the 10th was pretty much the soonest we could do it…. With this in mind, I have to say, I love how laid back Sarah is! She is extremely organized, but she also knows how to sit back and just enjoy. A breath of fresh air….

Now, I don’t want to post without an image or two, but I also can’t reveal Sarah’s wedding day look before her big day. So, I leave you with these:

As all good bridal sessions do, Sarah’s ended with these on her feet…

and these in her hand….

Thanks so much for a fun morning Sarah! I will be seeing you VERY soon indeed.

I LOVE these little letterpress calendars by Pearl Papers!! What fabulous Christmas gifts these would make (hint, hint). And at the end of each month, you could carefully remove that month from the calendar and use it for something else! After all, they are MUCH too pretty to throw away…. Let’s say you’re having (or had) a baby in January. Well, take January, circle the blessed day (hehe), and then frame it (perhaps in a shadow box?) along with a picture of your bouncing bundle of joy. Or do it with a wedding photo!

Oh, and the little bags they come in, so perfect!

November is already here…..and the holidays are upon us. The air outside has turned cooler (hey, 75 degrees is cool for Texas!), Macy’s is decked out in its holiday best in hopes of luring in passersby, and soon….we will hear Christmas carols on the radio. Yes, my friends, it’s that time of year once again. Brace yourselves for the onslaught of holiday advertising, the hustle to get shopping done and presents wrapped, and last minute ticket purchases on AA or Southwest Airlines (my personal favorite!). How can anyone actually enjoy this season, some may ask? For me it is simple. I don’t care about the gifts, or the Christmas tree, or the large blow-up Santa in the front yard (*gag*). I just want to sit with my family in a cozy living room (preferably with a fireplace crackling a melodic tune, snow dancing to that melody just outside the window) drinking hot chocolate, laughing over childhood memories, missing those who are no longer here, and reveling in the joy brought by those who have been added. These moments are true gifts, and they are more dear than anything that could be placed in a box, wrapped, and topped with a bow. These are the things we should cherish. These are the things I need to cherish even more than I do now. I am so blessed.
