Do you know the song “My Favorite Things” from the movie The Sound of Music? I often find myself humming the tune, or horror of horrors, singing it aloud (sorry to any who might have ever been, or will be, within hearing distance!)!! As a matter of fact, as I sat here pondering what to write in the dreaded, obligatory “about me” section,” I found myself singing said song. Then I thought, why not just tell you about some of my favorite things?? Lucky for you, I don’t have the time, patience, or know-how to compose and record any sort of ditty, so a list of sorts will have to do.
In no certain order (well, except for the first one):
- My HOT, HUNKY hubby! Especially when he’s in uniform. Ooo lala!
- Hello. My name is Melanie, and I am a shoe-aholic.
- Thunderstorms. The ones with really LOUD thunder and lots of lightening.
- Traveling!! I love to travel, pretty much anywhere, anytime. My favorite place I’ve traveled to? Ireland. And Italy. And The Netherlands. And England. And Belgium (ohhh, the chocolate!)….
- Cooking - a whole other art form. I would love to go to culinary school.
- Birds. They are just little feathered people. Seriously! Ask Taco, my Maroon Bellied Conure. And he will promptly tell you in a very loud voice that he is “a VERY pretty boy”…. over and over again.
- People who selflessly give of themselves for others. I am humbled, blessed, and inspired by them.
- Reading. I love a good book! My undergraduate degree is in English Literature, so this is inevitable.
By no means is this the end of the list. It is just the end for now. I will add more from time to time!
